What types of classes does Steel Mace Valkyrie offer?
Steel Mace Valkyrie offers a range of fitness classes focusing on different aspects of fitness and mobility. This includes stretch and mobility, private sessions, resistance, cardio and core (Valkyries Boot Camp), kettlebell blast, steel mace flow, Tveir Stál (two steel), clubs and cocktails, Steel Mace, Stàl Hringr, STYRA-Steel Mace SWING, and youth classes.
How long do the classes last and how much do they cost?
Most classes last 45 minutes and cost CA$20. Private sessions are also 45 minutes long and cost CA$50. The Intro to Steel Mace workshop is one hour and costs CA$50.
What is the cancellation policy?
Please cancel your class 3 hours before the start time to give the person next on the list ample time to make arrangements to attend.
What do I need to do before I can join a Steel Mace class?
Before you can join a Steel Mace class, you need to complete the Intro to Steel Mace Workshop. This rule applies to all the other classes which require the usage of the Steel Mace.
I am in my 40s/50s/60s and new to these types of workouts. Will I be able to keep up?
Absolutely! Our classes are designed to accommodate all fitness levels and our experienced trainers will work with you to ensure you are working at a pace that is comfortable and safe for you. Each class also includes mobility and warm-up exercises to help prepare your body for the workout, and ends with a full body stretch to promote recovery.
Is the program suitable for beginners or individuals who have not worked out in a while?
Yes, the Steel Mace Valkyrie program is designed to accommodate all fitness levels. Whether you are new to exercise or are looking to get back into fitness after a break, we have classes that can help you build strength, flexibility, and confidence in a supportive and engaging environment.
Can my child join the Steel Mace Youth class?
Yes, as long as your child has taken the Intro to Steel Mace. The class is designed for youth to work on their Steel Mace skills and learn about basic form and execution of daily functions such as squats, lunges, and core engagement.
What is the aim of the private session?
The private session aims to provide one on one training with the coach, Brandee. It’s an opportunity to work on your specific fitness and mobility goals, or to discuss nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
Are there any classes for those seeking advanced training?
Yes, the Steel Mace Flow and Tveir Stál (two steel) are advanced classes meant for individuals confident in their skills, looking for a faster-paced class that focuses on basic to intricate moves.
What should I bring to class?
For most classes, you only need to bring yourself, as equipment is provided. However, for the “Clubs and Cocktails” class, you’re encouraged to bring your cocktail of choice if you’d like. You are also welcome to bring your own steel mace.
